Credit Cards :
All major credit cards are accepted. Banking hours are between 8.30 a.m. till 1.30 p.m. Sun to Thurs.. closed Fri., Sat. and official holidays, otherwise most hotels have banking hours longer than the above hours.
Language :
Arabic is the official language. English is widely spoken and in some cases French.
Clothes :
Summer: Light Cotton garments. Winter: Heavy cotton during the day and woollen garments and coats in the evening.
Culture and Religion :
Archeological records of Pharaohs, Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza (one of the wonders of the world ) have witnessed the passing of various cultures on their territory; namely the Persian, Greek, Roman Byzantine and Arab. These together with Judaism, Christianity and Islam date back to 5000 BC. They left their fascinating traces on this land.
Sports :
On Land: Most sports facilities are available. These include horseback riding and golf. During desert safaris and visits to oasis, trekking is an enjoyable activity. Following active days in the desert, barbecues under Egyptian clear, starry skies are recommended. In Water: Diving, snorkeling, surfing, water skiing and swimming.
Geography :
Blessed with a unique geographical location and topography, Egypt has much to offer apart from Mount Sinai, deserts, beaches and its green Nile Valley. .
General Information :
Most hotel meals served in the main dining room are buffet style, unless otherwise specified. Guests on half board take their meals in the main dining room. An allowance may be given against the half board charge, if eating in the hotel's a la carte restaurants (please check with the hotel reception during check in procedures). There may be a local charge If you wish to take a camera or a video camera inside temples, tombs or archaeology sites (the use of cameras/video cameras may be forbidden in some areas). Bags with over 35 cm width are not allowed in the above-mentioned places.

UPPER EGYPT :
Aswan is a must during your visit to Upper Egypt. Wide and dotted with granite islands, the River Nile is at its most picturesque here. You will not be disappointed by the many historical sites including the Unfinished Obelisk, the Temple of Philae, Egypt's finest temple at Abu Simbel and the world famous High Dam. Spend time relaxing in the setting of Agatha Christie's ‘Death on the Nile,’ take a stroll through the botanical gardens on Kitchener Island, or hunt down the many bargains in the local market!

Luxor is the perfect place to explore the ancient wonders of Egypt as one of the world's greatest open air museums. Visit the Valley of the Kings on the west bank of the Nile and see the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Visit the Temple of Karnak on the East Bank of the Nile and Luxor Temple- for those of you just seeking relaxation, a scroll along the tree-lined promenade watching the feluccas sailing gently across the river is a perfect pastime. Luxor is a wondrous combination of Egypt's historical past, and a relaxing holiday town.

NILE CRUISES :
Evoking memories of a travel mode from a bygone era, a Nile cruise is an ideal way to see Upper Egypt. Taba once a name for a border crossing now describes an area of coastline stretching between The Egyptian boarder and Nuweiba. Towards the Israeli border is the Island of Coral, where the Saladin built a fort. The remains can still be seen.
